13 stunning Washington wedding venues for 2021
I don’t know about your home state, but the Pacific Northwest offers so many amazing Washington wedding venues it makes it impossible to choose just one! Here you can find everything from castles to secluded getaways in the trees. You can basically find anything your heart desires around here and I’ve researched the best of the best for 2021.
Fairytale Venues: Castles fit for Royalty
Ready to embrace being a modern day Cinderella? These three castles are perfect for your fairytale wedding day. Even if you’re not into playing princess, you’ll love the beautiful grounds and unique features that will really get your guests talking!
Manresa Castle looks like something straight out of Ireland. Perched overlooking the bay in Port Townsend, this historic castle features beautifully landscaped gardens, hotel rooms with water views, and plenty of photo opportunities. Check out the library for the perfect rainy day first look, and dance the night away with your friends and family in the ballroom.
Thornewood Castle is my favorite local castle. With beautiful wooden staircases and an incredible garden for wedding ceremonies, it features plenty of room for guests to roam while you’re off with your new spouse for photos. With indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony and reception, you will love all that Thornewood Castle has to offer.
Troll Haven is like leaving Washington for a whole new world. Greeted by two blue dragons, this is the perfect venue for the fantasy lover in all of us. Keep an eye out for the trolls scattered through the grounds. From the beautiful antique barn to the bridal suites and grooms saloon, you’ll find magic around every corner here.
Hide away in the trees: Trees, Treehouses and Tree farm venues
Can we agree that it wouldn’t be a Washington wedding venue if it weren’t for a few (or more than a few) evergreen trees? The best part about the trees, you can be only minutes from the big city and feel like you’re lightyears away. For those of us who grew up around the trees, a treehouse is likely to be your dream venue. The christmas tree farms are always a close second though.
Treehouse point is a hop, skip and a jump (aka 26 minutes by car) from Seattle, making it an easy trip for those guests coming from the city. With unique lodging in their tree house suites, you can invite up to 16 of your friends and family to join you for a celebration that extends until everyone falls asleep.
Wellspring spa doesn’t exactly meet the treehouse childhood dream, but their rustic log cabins will tug at your heartstrings. Beautiful bridal quarters give you the option to get ready with just your closest friends, while there’s plenty of room for a party on the nearby lawn.
Right next door to wellspring spa is the new Altimeter Cabin, where you can take the rustic charm of the Ashford area and combine it with the ultimate camping experience. Have your guests bring their favorite tents and camp chairs, while you and your new spouse enjoy the log cabin with a warm fire and cup of joe. Kids will love the boho swing and Sasquatch egg, as they explore the grounds.
Glenwood Treefarm sits just outside of Tacoma in the Fredrickson area, making it a perfect tree farm for your wedding. There is plenty of beautiful space for your guests to roam while you have photos done in a grove of fir trees. Make a tradition of visiting your wedding venue every year at Christmas to pick out that perfect tree too.
Barn & Farm Weddings
I’m not sure exactly why, but there’s no shortage in rustic barn Washington Wedding Venues. Maybe it’s that we all have a little bit country in our blood around here, or it’s just that the forests give way to some pretty amazing farmland valleys. Whatever it is, I’m in love with these next venues.
The Wayfarer featuring a beautiful white barn that offers the perfect indoor ceremony option. Celebrate with a family style dinner at their beautiful farm tables, and start your honeymoon with the perfect sparkler exit.
Willapa Hills Farm offers a unique two day rental period (as well as one day and half day rentals!). This is a working farm, so prepare yourself to see all the cute and fuzzy animals on your wedding day. For those military and first responders, they offer a discount so be sure to mention that when you inquire!
Carleton Farm is located 5 minutes outside of Everett and about 30 minutes from Seattle and is a piece of paradise in the Snohomish valley. The suspended wagon wheel chandelier makes this barn a favorite in my book. With the private wedding courtyard and REAL bathrooms for the guests, this one is sure to win over your pickiest family members.
Pieces of History
Some of the best Washington Wedding venues are local pieces of history. From Fort Worden State Park to the hidden gems in Tacoma, there are so many historical buildings that rent out for weddings around here. Of course, I’m sharing a few of my favorites for your enjoyment.
Historic 1625 is off the beaten path in Tacoma. From the outside you may not expect to find 6000 sq feet of natural slate floors, brick walls and gorgeous open beam ceilings. This venue is a total gem that will give your wedding the elegant vibe you’re dreaming of.
You may remember the Smith Tower from Jazmin and Dominic’s Seattle Elopement, but did you know there are TWO incredible wedding venues in this building? Both the Lookout and the Observatory offer room for 80 guests, and views of Seattle from the sky. Escape to the beautifully marbled lobby for your couples photos and enjoy the incredible gold elevators while your guests sip libations during cocktail hour.
The Wheeler Theater at Fort Worden has my heart for the simple reason that Wheeler is my maiden name. However, you’ll fall in love with this 1932 theater complete with auditorium seating for your guests! Other options at Fort Worden are just as beautiful and no matter what you choose, you’ll find something everyone in your party loves.
This is most definitely not an exhaustive list of stunning Washington Wedding Venues, and I’m sure I’ll always continue to find new venues I love.
